Can anyone tell me... Why we have no download counter yet? ..... No -

Lol... Im just kidding. However, I would love to know why "?" we now have to type in a load of letters in order to send a message to anyone here on esnips.

Its ok.. I can type and... I Can read, would you believe it! Its just a shame that I cant get any messages across!!

Is there any chance that either the moderators of this failing website might help out here or.......... Should we just keep trying and type all sorts of crap hoping we can maybe talk to someone?

Even though I have been away. I still keep hoping things here will improve.. And - It would be nice if I could also perhaps get to edit my profile and update my Classic Video of The Month!

Oh well, never mind....

The implemention of the Captcha system - typing those letters- is to help users not to receive tons of spam messages every day which,
as long as they are still here, had to remove manually themselves .
It was, as you can imagine, urgent to solve this problem first.

It is a good way to protect the site from spammers it is in use by Myspace as well and most people don't bother with that.

Also the fix of the update community bug has high priority.

Unfortunately those things take a lot of time to program it, to install and
to test it before things go in public.

Then, when everything works fine, there will be time to fix other things.

The moderators keep an eye on the things including the download counter.

Ok - Thats all well and good and I am thankfull for the info Miss P but...

Can you tell me why (no matter how many attempts I try) it still dosn't work? I am all for the protection thing however, I am unsure if what I read in the box is supposed to be upper or lower case or if its supposed to be in bold or italic etc.

Its a little confusing to say the least and of course - it dosn't work!!

AMR us lowercase and it will work they are still working on adding the emoticons. It won't work adding the emoticons. Ian Paul has been championing the Download Counter but right now does not seem to be a top priority, so I really can't give you timeline on when it will be implemented. Suffice to say at least it is on the agenda of the TECH team of ESNIPS.
