"Oi! 'Wha' happen to the fairies,' he asks," said Gel, mocking the child. "I stomped on their 'eads, thas wha' happen." Gel laughed and began jumping up and down on the flower bed until the boy began to wail in earnest.
"I hate you!" he cried. "I'm telling Mum!"
"You do tha," said Gel, circling his ear with a forefinger. "She'll know, then, what a nutter you are. Fairies," spat Gel. "Bah!"
From deep within a mole hole came a tiny, tinny voice:
"I really don't know which is worse;
This story, or the fact it's not verse!
It's disguised as a poem,
But we fairies, we'll show 'em -
The Fairies Off-Topical Curse!"
And with that, a great bolt of lightning
sliced right through the afternoon sky,
"Oi! Wha--?" were the last words Gel spoke
as he crashed to the flower bed - dead.

True enough, but I was surprised to see it here under "Poetry" instead of "Prose" - must've been late, Ian!
And yeah, you have to join in, otherwise everyone's just browsing, waiting for the other guy to start some conversation. That's kind of a weird thing, in a FORUM...this is like the Seventh Grade Dance, you ask me. Where's the punch bowl?

O yes it was late but its not the first time and I am sure it will not be the last I didn't give it a thought when I placed it here I was reading through some old post when it came to me so I just went ahead and did the foul deed and put it in the wrong place I will not do it again but it was an interesting experiment do you think it is possible to have a whole short story made up like this
Best wishes

Ian, go look in prose - check out the link, then come back and add to the story. Of course it's "possible" - and it's been done through the ages, mostly by campers and bored Surrealists, I think. You never played this game as a kid?
