Zap - I was just enjoying your two paintings, cliffs of mohar and under bare ben bulbens head-

Am i correct in the one is acrylic and the other watercolor? there is real freedom in the acrylic painting, and its amazing how edges of color/shape can come together to create space and perspective!

I also enjoy your enthusiasm for the forum, and I share it!

I'm Lonnie Hendrickson, a new member of the esnips team - I will be out and about among the communities, checking things out - seeing what and who is new, and what you all are sharing. From what I've seen so far, there is a huge amount of artistic talent, and also a talent for sharing - everyone's so encouraging to one another!!

I look forward to seeing more, and being a part of what is created on the site in the community!

I'm also going to post this as a new thread - let's see what can happen.....

take care -
Lonnie

Cheers Lonnie.

Actually the Cliffs of Mohar is oil paint!
The Ben Bulben is Acrylics!

Can anyone tell me why, every time I create a new folder now, it doesn't appear on the main painting community page? My first for did but my new ones don't! If anyone can explain this i'd really appreciate it because it drastically reduces the number of visiters you get!

I agree!
if no one participates it won't take off...
but I am finding the community a little user unfriendly.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, wine in one hand, strawberries in the other, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO - What a ride!!

If you refer to the forums, I agree. They're sort of messily set up. No offence. But it could be a bit more aestetically pleasing, particularly to us artists... The group of us who graphic design are often bothered by clashing colors and... well... not quite neatly put together stuff.

The forum needs more work to be user friendly. I'm sure there's lots of nice people here... they just have to start peeking out from the lurking shadows.

Psst... PWSDUKE... if you want to put BBC code in, you have to complete the image tag. Like so!

Code:

With images in your esnips folder... well... I still haven't figured out how to put things in my esnips folder! I just look at other people's! I don't know if you can hotlink the images there, but you could put the url. Or you could upload to an image host... www.photobucket.com or www.tinypic.com both are good ones.

Hey all -

Thanks for the feedback, we are working on lots of things, and one of them is the forums.

So stay tuned!

Cathy, if you want to start posting things in your files, you just need to look on the top right of any page in your folders , for the"things you can do" list - one of the first things is Upload files!

I look forward to seeing some of your graphic work ...

Lonnie

PS - there are threads in most of the Visual Arts forums about how to sell work on eSnips

I wanted to add my five cents here . Well this is not really about what was last posted but does relate to it somewhat. I have viewed a lot of art here and everyone is so good. At the top of the eSnips pages under "esnips", you will see the word "BETA" which means eSnips is still under development so it and the forums are not perfect. However it gets better every day.
The only thing is, eSnips does not show a good JPG(JPEG)format picture right now. JPG is a lossy format unless you have software that can go 100% quality, which is not very often found. The JPG format gives a muddy look to art, photos...etc... it leaves wavy lines around objects and takes away pixels that would otherwise be there. I have found that PNG format is best for showing your art in its truest form with sharp crystal clear viewing. From past experience of selling my art, it sold better in PNG format as where I barely sold anything with my art uploaded in JPG format. You have 5 gigs of space so don't worry about the size and if you are, 640x480 is a nice viewing size on eSnips. Last but not least. I have been on eSnips only for a short while but I love it and the communities. Lonnie is fantastic with helping out and don't be shy to ask for help because there are a lot of wonderful people on esnips that will help. Sorry folks, I guess I had ten cents in my pocket instead of five.
Thanks all and keep up the great art.
