EULOGY TO A WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
(Mr and Mrs. Ian Paul May 29, 1971)

How can you forget this day
A walk to the altar for a vow
A pretty lady with mom and dad besides
You Fervently wait and her hands to you they entrust.

Thirty seven years, ah, not bad enough
For a wedding vow to last and to exalt
Not many were as lucky and be blessed
A golden gift by the almighty to the celebrants.

Married life is one hard to handle to paddle
In the first years of adjustments some collides
Trials and challenges both ways have to drive
The crucial roads to come across for a happy life.

Fruits and golden harvests were the treasures
The wealth unspent after long years together
They instead tightened the cords of the knots
That binds the two hearts till death do them part.

I know there were trials, tragedies to have passed
Sins of betrayals, infidelities, lusts of worldly desires
Deceived and fleeced heart breaking lies and tricks
But you had rowed the heavy stream of a kind and survive.

Hurray to both of you IAN and WIFE for long years to carry
The vows you have made with love and sincerity
In sickness and in pains, and in happiness and glory
To have, to hold and to cherish till death do you part.

This song of praise I sing for you as a gift of friendship:

Long live your love to the years God had added and blessed
To the silver memories HE had bestowed unto you
