I created one playlist tonight but when i tried to create another I added 7 audio files to the quicklist and then clicked "SAVE". It was only saving a couple of the files into the list

I also could not see how to arrange the files in any order when trying to just add more to an existing playlist. I tried this several times and could not get the quicklist to hold all the files I entered once I clicked on Save and viewed 7 files ????

Hope you can resolve this soon as I'm new to the site and signed up for this feature

Hello

sorry for the inconvenience. Adding to quicklist and saving to playlist should work fine now.
Maybe there is some small glitch still when you work with Firefox I have heard but I tried it myself in Explorer and everything works fine there now.

As for editing: if you wish to change the order of the songs in your playlist, you can do this as follows:

go to your home page
click under your menu: playlists
there, you'll see your playlists and under that, you'll see the option "edit" .

You can drop and drag the tracks in your specific desired order.
Please save your changes at the end of the session.

All the best,
Miss P

I understand the process and while choosing the audios to add to the playlist it shows the chosen 7 ... but when I click save it then only shows 1 track as being added to the playlist And yes, i did save the playlist or else it wouldn't have moved to the next screen to show the number of tracks.

I'm using Firefox as my browser, so perhaps that's the problem? Also the drag to sort does not work using Firefox. Not that I need to sort the list, I was just testing to see if it worked in case it's needed in the future for me.

I did get this to work using Opera as my alternate browser, but it would be great to have it work with Firefox.

Dear Sir

I am sorry for all the inconvenience. I think I'll have to ask the tech team to look more closely to this matter.

The only think I can do for you is, to create a playlist myself on my page so that you can eventually copy the playlist from me.

Are you willing to send me the links to the tracks you wish to create the playlist with, ?

if it won't be too much of a trouble....

like I said, at my place with explorer the playlists creating issue did work.

Best wishes,

Miss P.

Miss P:

Thank you for your kind offer to create playlists, but I can just login using Opera when I create the playlists, but hopefully it will work in Firefox in the future

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but I couldn't get the forum to recognize my being logged in all day until now, so I was unable to reply.

BTW my name is Lois and I upload David Eells's audios and videos on behalf of the ministry on various sites

Nice to meet you, Lois,

and when you encounter some difficulties pls write and I'll have a look again.
Opera sounds great to me, a friend of mine says that it is the most save browser at the mo.

All the best,
Miss P ( Philo)

I do have a suggestion after using the site for a couple days. When I started uploading and the form said 'Name' I thought that was asking your to enter a title for the audio. But by changing from the file name to a 'Title' it then messes up the links to the file which should be the file name

Once I realized that I had to go back and rename those titles to be the file name of the audios I uploaded so that when people downloaded the files the name of the file would be retained. Perhaps they can modify the form to say "File Name" rather than just "Name" to avoid having people make the same mistake as I did.

This did cause problems for me as some of the titles had the same ending words within the title so it kept thinking the file was already uploaded, etc.

I'm not sure how great the Opera browser is as I don't use it very often. It's necessary to use when I upload files to archive.org because Firefox doesn't work with the script they use to select a copyright license to use, so I have to enter the files using Opera. But what I don't like about Opera is that it doesn't retain previously entered text, or remember logins and passwords. So if you are entering information when uploading several files somewhere, for example, you have to retype the whole thing again or copy and paste. Just thought I would mention that

Well, off to upload some file ... have a great day.

Lois

I am afraid I do not understand you very well.

I checked it myself.
I decided to upload a file (an image/painting, named Jerrih)

I did see this appear on screen:

1 file(s) ready. Click Browse to add more...
jerrih.jpg

Give it a name
jerrih
Description
Tag it (What are tags?)

so, after : give it a name: I did not type anything.
the system completed it itself, and since this is the correct name of the
file I did not want to give it another name.

You see,
When you upload files, you usually don't have to type the name of the file itself, it is automatically generated by the upload itself.
Only if you wish to give it another name.

The final name, after the upload, will be the final link to your work too.

Only if you are giving links from your work to your friends, and in the meantime you did change the files'name, than of course that link does not work anymore, it appears to be broken.
So after every change in the files name the link changes too and you have to pass the new links on, too.

All the best,
Miss P
