I'v been told many times the same damn thing your going to hell for liking metal i just wana know whos side are metal heads on satan or god?

no metal is for who ever wishes to listen to it

Looking back in time, almost everything connected to rock music, later Heavy Metal, heavy rock and today metal.... They all have one thing in common.... They've been Classified as Satans music...

AND, if we go way back in time, even some of the pieces made by mozart and Bach, where sometimes referred to as music from the devil....

Mozart for his genius simplicity and Bach was too difficult for the normal man to play...

Okay, it's been a while since I studied the music history, but I seem to recall some stories about this.

So, where do I stand in all this? There shure as hell ain't no devil anywhere, so what does that mean? Simply, people make music, and people have different taste. Some people are musical, some aren't. Thats's how it is, pure and simple.

Hey.. Look.. There's many genres of music and Matal is one that has a standing that is long and hard. From the early hells angels to the current
sound of today.. Metal still has a place.

Going back many years ago.. It used to be called Heavy Metal. Then...
groups like AC DC, MOTORHEAD and SABBATH just left the nest!!

Now.. We have people like the kiaser chiefs etc who play well and make
some good stuff but... Cant ever replace true metal history, no matter
how much they might try.

The trouble with music is... That, It is an ever changing face. But...

Having said that... People like Ozzy and Lemmy etc will always be rememberd for shaping the music and... Giving the groups of today
a guideline to follow.

Its when you remember that.. If a group like the chiefs etc had just
one chance to play alongside someone like Mr osborne etc..

Then.. You know that, music will always make history. A history that
is never forgotten and a history that stands the test of time.

hmm...thats true?...na i really don't think thats what metal is about..i kind of always thought it was more along the lines of heavy music, not the hatred of an entire religion..but thats just me

True, in a way but.. Far too much music follows a religion in one way or another, its normal. Having said that... Its not an excuse!

Music in whatever form should be enjoyed for what it is and not because
it always has to convay some sort of cryptic message.

Think about it.. Its probably the only media that brings people together
instead of causing wars!

Music is Music It should be enjoyed for what it is, I'm a Christian and I like Heavy Metal, If you look at any of the Pop music videos most of them would be classified as soft porn.

neither i have a ferm dissbelief in both god and saten, i rounded good and bad things down to "Sods Law" if something good happens it happens, if something bad happens, well it sucks but can't change it can ya?

musics music listen to what you want, if people wanna follow a path by it, let em, its revolves around your thoughts not anyone elses

i dont think metal will make you go to hel. there is nothing wrong with metal music. i hate how metal music gets blamed when people shoot people or something, like on the news they go " he listend to metal" or like ".... and they listend ot marylin manson"

music doesnt make people want to kill someone.

metal music in my case helps me relax and be in a better mood.

i think rap music and others have a worse message then metal bands

its funny how now rap and pop bands cover or sample metal/rock bands

people interpert music the way they want muisc is not harmfull

BeeG , scotty flamingo and Sy I strongly agree with your views. Regarding teegrinsays I think music can drive mentally unstable dudes to acts of violence, but that is only the trigger. There is more then one way to ignite a barrel of TNT, and if we are to blame the media and music for acts such as these we might as well blame the sea for drowning people.
I think that Metal has got nothing to do with content. It's more of a form - a platform if you wish, on which you can growl a protest or sing admiration. You have different variations of Metal and sub-categories, but it all holds the base ground on which the genre is build - Metal.
If you take all types of music and view them panoramic, I would say that Metal, Punk, Death and so forth would be on one side and Trance House and Electronic would be on the other. Both of them "represent" different things but They have a lot in common, plus they are equally strong and loud.
In conclusion - I believe people interpret music and subject it to areas in their life they think it fits, therefor an analogy is created. I'll say nothing new but strengthen what has been said before: Music should be enjoyed, and if you don't then don't listen to it. It's your choice.

i agree 100 % if people dont like the music just dont listen to it. no one is forcing you to listen to it. If it ofends you then just switch the radio or dont buy the cd.

yeah, i always get that from ppl....i have been even given a name, ghost for listening to bands like cradle of filth and mushroomhead. my parents always say i see ghostly stuff around my university cuz i remain unholy by listening to metal. but this is not at all true.
