just so you all know, we really like this, and we want to work with you to get it going....we also have some ideas which are getting cooked/thrashed out/whatever your metaphor is for gelling together.....and we will be in touch.

How many DJs do you all think will participate in this get-together?
I see this thread has been read more than 500 times, (it is from december...) and the newer ones only around 50...any guesses?

I would say at least 30 for the initial contest.

Fonz if you do not want to enter the contest that is cool dude. Yes it is all about the music and the musical tapestry a DJ creates. I did not understand the second line of your post so I could not respond to it. Fonz as far as I can see there no geographical or ethnic oriented communities on Esnips.

Fonz I really do not see it as a competition but as a chance for a lot of the DJs
to be heard. As far as one of your mixes being featured give it a little time. After all you have only been here a month. This "Contest" is all about getting all Esnips Djs who participate some exposure and recognition for all the great and beautiful music and mixes being created here on Esnips. In essence there are no losers we are all winners for participating.

I've read all the stuff about voting that you've written, and I understand your ideas about people voting who aren’t from eSnips.
A vote that's closed to the public has the "risk" of a very low key experience - my experience is its much more fun to have a vote open to the public – waaay more interest and suspense!
If you like, look at letting everybody you know in on the contest as a chance for all the djs who send in stuff to get listened to, and not plain self promotion......
