So esnips finally see common sense and remove the annoying autoplaying video dj/blog thingies but they have replaced them with annoying autoplaying adverts!!

With their stupid noises and flashing lights they are horibbly distracting.

Please esnips, I know you need the funds but surely there's a better way than to constantly annoy your members?

lol i had ma kids searching round the house to see which alarm was going off blaming their phones and all sorts it was only when i had my headset on and it happened that i realised..........that was after my ears stopped feckin bleeding from the high pitched squeal.

me personally would rather see half naked bimbo's my ears are important to me lol

You guys actually think it's a money thing or are they just doing it because they can?

It's evident they don't care about us, they've demonstrated behavior for quite some time to back that up, but now it's really getting "in your face" - like what are ya gonna do about it?

I brought my wife in to hear a song a few nights ago and there were the ladies all lined up with their legs spread on the right of the screen. She didn't even listen to my blanking song for crying out loud. I did escape before she hit me though.

Now today I go visit one of my eSnips friends and right under her picture is "The Fart Button".

You think there's a pattern here?

I'll continue to store my songs on this site and use eSnips with little regard -- but I honestly think they are thumbing their noses right back at us with this worthless advertising.

I'd love to know the names of the people in charge of this shipwreck.

golf i guess you pretty much summed it up to what many are feeling...me personally i know perfectly well i am getting more and more disliked by the esnips team because i am so vocal it dont always do ya any favours complaining and yes thats how we are looked at...whingers lol

for the main i am pretty much like you now just post as and when it lets me and tonight it wouldnt and probably why i am a bit pissed off hehe

i still kinda hold out hope things will improve well a part of me does lol the other part aint got anything good to say about esnips other than thank god for other members and their music and art.

I say the same here, as I did in another "Porn ad thread":

Please make a screenshot of the ads in question, and send it to one of the mods, and we can give all of this to the esnips team.

If you find some ads really annoying, that, hey, this ad shouldn't be on this site at all, please do this. Also provide a link to the page in question. This way, it actually is possible to do something about it.

Now, please do as I say, because then we actually can make this a better place.

my pc wont let me do screen shots because i do not have a printer hooked up so i cant but there is no way none of you moderators have not come accross these horrible noises and ad's seriously they are that high pitched some of them ya head nearly explodes if ya got a headset on ... dunno bout copyright libel when peeps ears get damaged they will have bloody compensation claims to deal with lol ok thats a bit far fetched but seriously they are that loud...its normally as you move into peoples folders ya get them

Chris i know your very knowledgeable with pc's different software etc but many of us out here are not so and i know you try your best to pass over as much information as you can .. but take off some of your pc ad blocks etc once in a while you will seriously be shocked just what we are experiencing.

There's an add-on for Firefox users called "No Scripts" that solves this. I never got those BlogTV videos when I used eSnips at all. Just got a gray cube and no sound at all. You just approve sites you trust,as you go. YOU DON'T HAVE TO APPROVE EVERYTHING ON THE SITE EITHER! Just choose allow esnips.com (you'll see the other scripts that are trying to run in the same options menu) and no more crap. They even BOLD the most secure, while functional option. Makes it easy to manage.

Normally when I surfe the web I use Firefox with an extesion called Ad Block Plus installed. This way, I don't see that many ads. You can turn it on or off as you please, and you can also block different elements from a page.

Now Genise, you don't need a printer installed to get Printscreen to work. Just push the key where it say "Prnt Scrn" or whatever.... Now you have a copy of the entire screen in your clipboard. Open up a graphics program (gimp, paint.net, photoshop, corel draw or whatever you like to use). Open a new document, and paste (ctrl+v). Then you save the file as a jpeg, upload it to a public esnips folder, and give the link in a message to one of the mods. You can pm me with links and whatever.

Hope this helps. Without any documentation it's kind of hard to do anything about this. If you don't have any graphics software, then you can download the gimp or the paint.net for free. Just google them.

Another thing....

the ads are provided by the google adsense. You subscribe to different categories that are relevant to the sites material. Then it is google adsense that provides all the ads. When there are ads that you don't want, you can log on to google adsense and fine tune the settings, and then block unwanted ads.

This is how things works with google adsense. So, when you come across ads that you feel should not be here at all (porn, or very annoying or whatever), then make a screenshot, make a link to the page and write a post to one of the mods. This way, the problem can be addressed.

This doesn't mean that esnips share your opinion about one ad in particular, but if esnips does, the problem will be taken care of. I hope this clarifies things.

All due respect Jam, but half the time I'm here I'm moving my files around so they will play - I don't really want to spend the other half fixing something else eSnips has screwed up.

These ads didn't appear out of the blue - someone at eSnips had to think this up, propose it, and get it OK'd. That means they're happy enough with the product to have it here whether it offends any of us or not.

Please pay close attention to what I'm about to say -- if it is the member's responsibility to be the watchdog for this company you guys might want to consult us BEFORE you just jump in the water and then remember you can't swim.

Let's face it - if eSnips really cared at all what we thought they'd be running this company in a very different manor.

BTW, I took a screenshot of one of the BEEPING ads and hit the "Attach Files" button and it wouldn't let me attach anything. hahaha

It seems that you totally not get it. Google adsense streams their ads to all sites who sign up for them. If you honestly believe that esnips gives a fuck about it's users, then why are you complaining? Or even better, why are you still here?

I did explain in my post before this how the google adsense thing worked.... didn't I...? That means, if YOU or anybody else has a problem with one or more ads....then you are presented with several choices:

1) You can choose to do nothing about it....
2) You can choose to listen to the mods, so your esnip experience can be
improved.

I'm not asking you to be a watch dog. Esnips isn't asking either. But esnips and us mods are giving you the oportunity to help, so your and you're fellow esnippers experience here at the site can be as good as it can get.

So, please stop twisting my words into something
I didn't say or ask you to do. That's simply wrong!

If you choose not to provide the links etc to the ads in question, feel free to do so. If you feel like contributing, so your own experience here can improove, feel free to do so.

I know esnips DO care.... That's why I'm doing the best I can here. All I'm asking, if you want to get this fixed as soon as posible, then please do as I've alredy written in a post earlyer. That will make it so much easier and qucker for everyone.

Nonstop whining about how bad esnips is, doesn't solve anything. Information that pinpoints the problem (screens for illustration, links, a breaf explanation of the nature of the problem), that CAN make a difference.

To sum it up, I'm here to help, and I'll do what I can to help.
Feel free to PM me anytime.

Btw. after you've taken a screenshot, save the file locally. Then upload the file as you usually would do, to a public folder.

I'm certainly not twisting your words, I'm stating an opinion. One I happen to think is correct.

It's evident you are part of the problem and not the solution so please don't bother responding to any more of my posts. Pass it along to someone who can at least be civil and do something about the problem.

And, I might add my own thoughts to Ian's reply ... esnips has been working with the mods, resolving issues we point out and issues that we find in the forums. Working together as a team, we have worked out and are still working on tagging issues, to help insure content is placed in the proper communities, rather than helter skelter. There is, indeed, more work to be done, but I do know they are studying everything we talk with them about.

And I'll agree with Jam, on this. If you hate esnips so badly, why are you still here? Just to use the forums as a place to vent your frustrations with the world, in this case esnips? Now, I ain't saying your complaints aren't looked at and checked into.. but there are a certain few who do nothing but post negativity. There are a great many more, who post positively.

I happen to know for a fact, that Liat and Tomer are doing a great job. I happen to know that they are doing what they can to make everyone as happy as possible. I know for a fact that they get the "issues" directed to the proper programmers who try to find a "cure", as soon as possible.

I also know, that some people will never be happy using a site that is provided free, for their use. If we were PAYING customers of esnips, I could understand the constant whining and bellyaching, but we are NOT paying for anything and we are all free to move on, if that is our choice.

I'm happy that most users here are quite satisfied, with what they receive for free.

While we all would prefer you ALL stick around, we can't force you to LIKE anything. But we will all do what we are able, to try helping make the site as user friendly as we can. No results are instantaneous.

And Genise... none of the esnips staff have ever commented or even hinted that you are among the "disliked". I have found that the Israeli people are some of the most forgiving people on the planet. To my knowledge, there is NO listing of disliked or troublemakers. If you were such a thorn in their side... think about it... would your profile still be here? Would you even still have access to the site?

In a lot of cases... the mods report annoying issues, even before they're posted here in the forums.

good! thankyou ian... i am sure people will be very happy or at least their hearing will be...this is all it needed....

can i just say 1 thing here people WHINGE for reasons and having this constantly in posts people being umm belittled in certain ways and made to feel bad for pointing out problems is certainly not helping matters...in the end people will tire of this and move elsewhere just like a member above was told to do...surely that is not what you moderators or the esnips team want....why should we be made to feel like pieces of shits for voiceing opinions....think on guys i know ya job aint easy BUT! you chose to take the position on if ya cant put up with peoples opinions whether you agree or not then do what i did and revert back to being just a plain ole normal member...sorry chris i think ya a brilliant person but that was a bit uncalled for.
