It is a really good idea, just because hip-hop doesn't fit with trance, as we can see in the competition.

Hi fellow eSniper's and DJ's alike. I would just like to add my humble remarks by saying this. I'm quite new to this community. I've not had much time to browse through and listen to others music cos I been too busy posting up my own, but since eSnips introduced this spin-off I have had a listen to a few mixes.
There is obvious talent within this community and it is a shame there are those few that spoil the good 'vibe' by jacking up their own votes by whatever means they choose. I've been a working DJ for 30yrs now (yes kids I am one of those 'old' DJ's lol) and never once said to anybody I am the best. I'd rather my music and my work speak for myself and thats how this 'spin-off' should be regarded.
I'm not sure what the admin around here are going to do when it comes to announcing the winner. So I dont appear biased I've not even had a look to see who's got the most votes but judging from what I've read in this thread, it would seem that perhaps the admin should eliminate and 'mixes' that appear to have dodgy votes (ie 200 votes but only 50 visits).
Also (forgive me if this has already been mentioned) maybe when eSnips has another comp like this one, they should make the minimum length of a mix AT LEAST 15mins and not say upto 15mins long. I noticed a few dubious entries in this comp that were no longer than an average 12" piece of vinyl lasting 7mins.
On the whole I think eSnips is a great place to showcase your work and your talent and I wish all those that have entered in the good spirit of things the very best of luck. To the admin I say you also are doing a great job and I am sure your future competitions will get better.
Now go vote for me please. I want at least 10 votes by closing time so I dont feel my music sucks.

Just a suggestion for future contests, categorizing the style of mix or music is 1 way to eliminate problems just a thought.. DJ Acid-Ish
Yeah I've mentioned this Idea before the initial spin off. This will help better organize the files and create catorgories. What I think is happening is that the honnest people dont or wont have time to go through all of the mixes, there are about 100 entries, so people just view a few files and place a vote without giving the rest of the entries a chance to be heard.
Catagorizing these sets into genres will give people more options on the kinds of mixes they want to hear and will give more sets a chance to be heard before placing thier vote. There are quite a few talented DJs on Esnips with thier own respected style of mixing, so let us check out these DJs according to the type of mix they submit, whether it being House,Breaks,Oldschool, Hip-Hop or multi genre. Then we have a chance to vote for more than one DJ from different genres.
What ya fellas and gals think?
Yeah I agree that next time. There should be different genres for each mix. Seemed like the majority of the mixes were Trance or something along those lines. As far as the voting goes....... ehhhh what can you do. Its not like this conetst was a real DJ battle/contest. I could understand being mad & upset about people cheating, if there was stuff on the line. I was mad about the voting at first. But then I was like. This isnt a real DJ contest. If anything it was just something to give yourself some exposure. I entered thinking that I had a chance at winning. But after about 3 days, then checking the votes and seeing who was leading the way, I knew something wasn't right. Anyways the contest was cool, thanks for those who listened and voted for me. Lets make the next one better.
