There is a new problem affecting me and I suspect others.

I am used to the hate mail and having files disabled or the message that says that the file no longer exists [ but DOES exist , because it can be moved to another folder where it works PERFECTLY ] but now I am having files completely removed without my knowledge or consent.

ALL TRACE of them is gone [ except on the past html files I save regularly ]

I suggest you guys do the same as me and save your folders page html regularly so that you can compare it with your current folder page. That way you can easily spot the files that have been removed.
I consider this the worst thing that can happen to a file because there is no "work round" for a missing file.

PS I have lost another 2 Beatles songs since I saved the html 4 days ago.

It's not just that .... I'm sure the recordings are being downgraded somehow. I've checked some of my wav files alongside those I have uploaded over time, after noticing a sound discrepancy. They are definately different in quality.

I wish WE had control of our own files while they are at esnips THEN if someone removes the mp3 you could just replace the file without losing any nice comments from people and having to start again.

I once suggested to someone at esnips that perhaps someone was hacking in from outside but was told that wasn't possible.

So I said well that means it must be someone at esnips doing it.

BUT that was rejected too.

Being a simple man I was confused because, if it wasn't being done from OUT-side and if it wasn't being done from IN-side .... I had run out of possible "sides" .

In the past I have taken some of these "happenings" personally but after reading what Dale wrote in another thread and all the problems Dizzy has had recently I have to say I think it's the esnips software or that "Audio Tragic" AGAIN that is causing all those problems.

When I encounter problems I try and stay cool and find ways round the problems but there are so many different types of problems now.

I remain logical and logic tells me that it's not personal when someone as popular as Dizzy is affected too.

For months now we have had to upload to private folders and then switch to get round the "copyright" problem and we have learnt to move our files when we get the "file no longer avaliable" error message appears and for months now the "auto play" function has been disabled in the mp3 player widgets.

That was supposed to be a temporary measure until the abuse of esnips by other websites was taken care of.

I assume that problem has been adressed by now.

I know the Mods report all these faults. BUT they are here in the forum for the esnips guys ro read if they want to. They don't actually need to have the problems spoon fed to them.

I just wish that occasionally we heard from esnips themselves in these forums.

I know that staff levels were reduced but peeing off some of the most popular singers here is not a good thing in my opinion.

What good would a karaoke section be if everybody got peed off and left taking all their songs with them.

I've gone through my folders and found a couple of my songs totally vanished as well... Hmmmmmmmmm...
I can't find'em anywhere... I don't even get the dreaded "File No Longer Available"... They're just GONE !!
Maybe I deleted them after one of my happy... post Martini or post Margarita binges... hehe

I'll just repost'em when the time is right

What I would like to know is

IS esnips aware of this problem and what is THEIR explanation for it ?

AND what are they doing about it ?
Whenever I have asked questions in the past and made suggestion of the possible causes I have always had my theories rejected BUT I have NEVER yet found out what happened to my damaged or removed files.

To me that suggests that

1. esnips doesn't have a clue either

OR

2. They DO know but won't tell me.

Logic suggests that it HAS to be one of those 2 options

I always feel that posing a question in the forum is like watching a coffin disappearing through the curtains at a crematorium.

It would be nice to have that choice instead of esnips choosing which ones of mine THEY think are crappy.

I just noticed your topic, and I understand you are also very

I too have noticed that certain files are removed, and a message
"file no longer available" appears instead.

If Esnips had just started this karaoke-site, I would understand, because at first there can be problems expected, which are to be solved
eventually.
But it seems like the longer Esnips exists, the more problems arise.
When I first joined Esnips, everything went without ANY problems...and everything worked as it should.
I don't know who is responsible for Esnips, technically....but, unless
"someone" is deliberately bringing problems, I believe that the
technical support should be able to solve this....or find out what the
cause can be.
If everything worked fine from the beginning of Esnips up until a few
months ago...........why couldn't it remain that way?

I have my own thoughts and opinion....and in the meantime I , and
hopefull many others, will hold on......

"file no longer available" is a notice related to audible magic and copyright infringement if you get this notice post a link and I will check-it out and notify admin and also you can return the file to private at any time no file is ever removed just suspended .

I have noted that many files that come up as copyright infringement, can be found elsewhere on esnips by other singers how come ?
Does audible magic only work for some people,

and not others ?

Well esnips erns a lot of money by us, so the least they can do is getting it work on a good way. When I come here in may 2007 there were no problems at all. Its if how faster the income is growing the less responsible they get to us the money bringers. well maybe it is time to get a share of it, and we can make it work by that earned money.

Normally if I point out things that are going wrong they are normally denied BUT then, if lots of people confirm what was supposed to be just my computers fault is happening to them too, desperate times call for desperate measures and I am accused of being negative and told that all I do is complain.

That might satisfy someone with an IQ in single figures but the brighter amongst us realise that it's meant to distract from the problem being discussed in a serious way.

There are so many different problems happening now and we have been victims of "divide and rule"

I have had problems that were "being looked into" that months later were not resolved and I don't expect that to mean anything anymore.

I just look for ways to work round each new problem as it occurs but when all trace of a file is removed then you cant move it anywhere to try and save it
