Hi DJs!

We are really jazzed by this contest, and the fact that it came from you….I have a couple of questions for you all based on what has been said in the forum, and what we can do for you here – I'm putting them in different threads so as to have some control over all the info I get.

Prize – What are your thoughts on a prize? Does there need to be a prize for this contest? Our past experience has been that in some cases people get very involved in contests where there are prizes. What do you think?

Give us your thoughts in the next day or two – so we can get things here started !

Prizes we don't need no stinkin Prizes. If the consensus is pro prize I think it should be associated with the area the contest is in. I am sure with all the web traffic generates, certain record labels would jump at the chance to sponsor this. djnicalvarado.com has Kush records as a sponsor. His website
last I checked had a little over 7000 hits Dj Savani has more than that himself
The accolades from my peers is prize enough for me. Unless one of the prizes will be a dinner with Lonnie

We don't need prizes. This should all be about having fun mixing stuff! Prizes can be a treat now and then maybe. Or what Mike said, this can up the traffic to this place alot, and then maybe some recordlabel will sponsor such contest. I guess anythings possible...

what matters a possible prize when the djs who live the music,do it for the sake of maintaing up the music spirit of people?..i am sure that many from esnips's users are waiting anxiously to hear at least one mix..to not talk about of more mixes..they want what's best,the dj wish to mix in what best manner they can..so,it is that a prize more than other prize can be: to make others dancing!!! to encharm their musical brains..those who live music,don't need prizes..i agree,and i sustain that,even!

The prize should be recognition. The "winner" of the contest for that month should be featured on the "Battle of the DJs" main top page (in their corresponding genre groups) for a period of 1 month along with their winning mix with the description of their file. We just keep the cycle going every month.

To be honest with you Mike, the name "Battle of the DJ's" does not bother me. I suppose any name we come up with will do, what sugestions do you have?

But one thing is sure:

This competition isn't about who is Dj or artist or who did some special.

It's about:
1. eSnips get more traffic
2. and to clear up who can MANAGE itself better!!!

Quality, creativity doesn't count too much

Simply:
The DJ with the biggest number of friends + Lot of Links = Winner !!!

Recommendation for the next Djs Spin-Off:

From the uploaded mixes an independent Dj jury select out the 20 (or 30) most worthwhile tracks, and then vote to them the folk.
