Hello!
We are thinking about adding a user generated "How To..." video tutorial section to the DJ community - user generated meaning the videos can be generated and shared by you, with our help.
It'll be designed to help you learn more about and polish your mixing and producing skills.
Like, everything from how to use a sampler and sample, how to use MIDI and tips for production and sound.
So what do you think?. Is this something you'd be interested in having in the community?,
Tell me if you like the idea and what topic should be the first video

I think this is a great idea. This way, we can all share our knowledge and maybe get a tip or two, how get that sound we're looking for. I'll even consider doing some how to's.... but don't think I have all the tools... Need some videoscreen capture software, that can do that, and maybe at the same time record audio....

After that, it's easy. If I need to add audio, I just do that in my video editing software... So, do the eSnips tech-guru's have such software built in to the new power-toolbar perhaps?

I also think this really do belongs not only in the dj community, but all communities dealing with recording and playing audio... I guess all the different how to's could be placed under each community based on the tagging system...

Great idea!

This is weird.....I was just thinking about asking if we could do this sort of thing, the other day,

basically if you get a screen recorder, click record, then get busy on your fave mixing/ producing app, then you can show techniques in a matter of mouse clicks, you can test the theory with this free version...

http://wisdom-soft.com/products/autoscreenrecorder_free.htm

although there is no sound output on the free one, it does record to quite decent Avi quality video, which can then be converted to flash(swf) if needed, to save on space, its always good to see how people do things first hand, and I think a lot of E-snippers have loads of skills to share...I reckon its a goer..!!!

That is a wonderful idea for all the communities, to quote jam on a post
the first video for the DJC should be "BeatMatching 101". in the subcategory
should be basic music theory the fundamentals of rhythm. Fantastic idea then I could learn a quarter note from half note and 7/4 versus 4/4 or how many bars are in a measure. then how many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center. Lonnie damn you are goood.
