In order to make it easier to find fresh, original works by esnips authors, why not post your links here with a short synopsis convincing us they're worth a read?

Okay, just the links will work, too, if you're shy. But self-promotion's a skill we could all learn. (Or so my publisher keeps hinting at me. I have a children's book coming out before the end of the year, and I'm getting that deer-caught-in-the-headlights look on my face at the thought of booksignings and things... Every morning, I look into the mirror and say, "Buy my book! Buy my book, please! You'll love it! Well - you do have a young child in your life, right? They'll love it, and they'll love you for giving it to them - reading it to them, too! Makes a great bedtime story." And then I stick out my tongue at myself and go to my day job. Which I have no plans to quit, any time soon.)

Sorry, Holly, but you may as well gather up all your courage: You will be going public in the not too far distant future.

Yes, authors must learn to promote themselves and their works. Easy, no. Necessary, yes. I know it's easier for me to promote others than myself, but I'm learning, too.

*pushes Holly out into the public limelight* What fun!

Well HI there! (See what I mean? She's RELENTLESS, I tell you - RELENTLESS!)

*shades eyes and asks, "Can I have jewel lighting, please? The strobe's just a bit much..."*

Okay, fine, I'll go first:

Stephen is afraid of the monster who lives under the bed. What he doesn't know is that the monster is afraid of HIM. Trockle is a picture book written by Holly Jahangiri and illustrated by D. J. Logan for young children and early readers, soon to be released by 4RV Publishing. T-shirts are available for purchase now, at http://www.4rvpublishingllc.com/Store.html - or right here on esnips, at http://www.esnips.com/web/4RV-Trockle

Gosh, isn't he cute?

*crawls under the bed with the monsters and the dust bunnies*

See, that wasn't so hard, now was it?

The Base Stealers Club by V. Gilbert Zabel

Found on Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Base-Stealers-Club-Gilbert-Zabel/

Former teacher and new author V. Gilbert Zabel has written a novel that hearkens back to simpler times in THE BASE STEALERS CLUB.

A tight circle of friends on a baseball team hone their skills on the diamond while also solving problems off the field, learning many valuable lessons in both settings.

While steamrolling their way through the regular season, the Jonesville Chargers' only apparent hardship is finding the culprit who has stolen money from their lockers during their games. Although the authorities become involved, it is the personal recommendations and plans of "The Base Stealers Club" - teammates Chevis, Ryan, and Dillon - that set the stage for finding the thief. But the resolution of the problem teaches the boys about the power of mercy over justice in this heartrending story.

With non-stop baseball action from a lifelong baseball fan, THE BASE STEALERS CLUB is that rare middle school fiction title that is suitable for younger readers and would be suitable for Christian fiction collections, as well.

I'll be greedy and plug two:

Approaching Our Destination

London's miraculous underbelly. A family that mysteriously disappears on the moorlands, never to be seen again. A vicious vendetta between two gunslingers that escalates into a conclusion both unexpected and inevitable. A group of anarchic orphans that transform Paris into a fabulist jungle. A future in which urban legend is thought reality and in which an angel is the obsessive centre of attraction at a party.

This collection of sharp, haunting short stories depict a world in which another reality hovers just below the surface of what we see, and where nothing is quite as it first seems.

Blowing Hot and Cold

"It was midsummer when we first found the body. Martin was twelve then, I was nine, and the man we discovered could have been no older than the combined total of our years. He wore a green uniform and there was a thin scar down one side of his face. He reminded me of my brother."

Who is the bible salesman that arrives to the accompaniment of thunderstorms? Why do mysterious figures haunts the ruins on the outskirts of the city? What is the meaning of the prophecy given by the woman in the lunatic asylum?

Updating the form of the gothic novel, Blowing Hot and Cold tells the story of Martin, a child growing up though a long and futile war. Told from the viewpoint of five different narrators, both the story of his life and the society he lives in is gradually pieced together. In the process a picture emerges of a world in which dreams, madness and delusion are the only possible responses to the events that are unfolding.

Hi, folks. This looks like a good place for me to start.

I'm a recently electronically published author and have two short stories available as eBooks through Mystic Moon Press so far. If anyone's interested, I'll post the blurbs below:

Alone
Jason runs a quiet farm in the middle of nowhere and has a big problem with wolves eating his livestock. To combat this problem, he rigs the surrounding forest with foothold traps and waits in.

Accidentally stepping on one of his foothold traps, Jason's leg is broken and he is pinned to the floor. Now he's really in trouble. Darkness has begun to fall, and soon the wolves will be coming for him.

The Red-Eye
Wendy had always been a walkover and everyone always took advantage of her. But when she boards a red-eye flight to New York to visit her mum who has recently began seeing Wendy’s ex-husband, the quiet girl’s mind wanders a little too far and a vicious monster that’s been waiting to get out for some time is finally unleashed.
