Hello all, this is my first post here. You see, I am having problems where file in my publicly shared folder cannot be viewed in a browser like they used to be. I am speculating that this started after eSnips had a major update and from then on links don't contain the extension (for instance .html) anymore.
For example, from my website I link to a few .html files (they are basically Firefox's bookmarks.html files, containing various entries of interest), and I remember that one or two years ago when I clicked on the link, the file in question was opened directly in a browser.
While now, if I want to for example open the "forums-posts-3.html": http://www.esnips.com/doc/c136b79b-43b1-4491-a8b3-5a77c8e8c964/forums-posts-3 from my publicy shared folder "hosting" (and even if I "access this folder using this web address": http://www.esnips.com/web/satyr/), I only see a typical eSnips page but no actual content of a said .html file.
Can anyone please shed some light on why am I experiencing this, I mean is maybe this normal and files cannot be viewed directly anymore??!
Thanks in advance, Tadej

I just had a look.
I can still download your pages, btw. and all the information is still there.
that is the good news.
What I do not understand is why I just can view one of the docs, and all the others not.
I'll ask admin about this.

Hey, thank you very much for the reply. Anyway, I am not sure what do you mean with "I can still download your pages" (do you mean that you can download the .html files, like "forums-posts-1", "forums-posts-2" etc., that I mentioned above??), but anyway, it's sad though that, as also mentioned in the opening post, one cannot view them directly (view the respective .html file in a browser) anymore.

I will be very grateful if you would do that!!
Thanks once again, Tadej

well I did ask but it has slipped their attention, sorry for that.
and yes, I meant that I could download your files, so I can read the documents perfectly.

Sorry for digging this old thread, but I just re-checked that and no, if I am not logged-in into eSnips I cannot even download the file. I did a test with two Firefox profiles, one in which I use eSnips (and has therefore my username/password remembered and used), and the other one that doesn't "know" my eSnips account info. And just to be completely sure, I did it also in Internet Explorer, and the result was the same, i.e. there was no "Download" option available!!
Here below are the screenshots of how the page (in particular, my "hosting" folder that is set to be "Public") looks in both cases:

In general it is not uncommon that you cannot download something without being signed in.
For example, if I wish to download some royaltee free samples for my mixes
I also have to register myself first and sign in to that site
before I get acces to those.
Even when it is my own created account.
You can compare this with entering your house. You cannot get access
to your house without unlocking and open ing the door.
technically I still can't explain why your files are not shown as a preview.
I have to pass this one on.
but your files are still there in the folders and downloadable too.
I hope someone else can answer this question for you.
In the meantime, it is a kind of a job but not impossible.
You could (download and) edit the files to txt, doc or jpg and upload
again so that you can view them.
