Hi Tom

Scrapbooking is usually done very seriously then?
i mean, acid freee papers and glue, and archival pens - these sound like things being used to create an heirloom

Re:Basic material require for scrapbooking

Very seriously. And it's big business. I'd welcome tips on how NOT to go broke in the scrapbooking store. You know - scrapbooking with "found objects" or something. I've spent more and done less scrapbooking than anyone I know. I should just open a store - maybe that's more what I'm about than actually doing any layouts. I love the stuff, but usually feel totally inadequate to the task.

That's why I enjoyed making that altered book - I kind of put all the instructions and other people's examples aside and started playing. It's like fingerpainting vs. drafting or fine art. But it's a great way to lay the inner perfectionist to rest.

I'm glad to see some activity in this category! Hope to pick up some ideas and tips.
