THE BIGGEST THREAT WE HAVE EVER FACED !!!!!!!!!

There is a new problem affecting me and I suspect others. I am used to the hate mail and having files disabled or the message that says that the file no longer exists [ but DOES exist , because it can be moved to another folder where it works PERFECTLY ] but now I am having files completely removed without my knowledge or consent. ALL TRACE of them is gone [ except on the past html files I save regularly ] I suggest you guys do the same as me and save your folders page html regularly so that you can compare it with your current folder page. That way you can easily spot the files that have been removed. I consider this the worst thing that can happen to a file because there is no "work round" for a missing file. It's not just that .... I'm sure the recordings are being downgraded somehow. I've checked some of my wav files alongside those I have uploaded over time, after noticing a sound discrepancy. They are definately different in quality.

Hey Mal, I wish WE had control of our own files while they are at esnips THEN if someone removes the mp3 you could just replace the file without losing any nice comments from people and having to start again. I once suggested to someone at esnips that perhaps someone was hacking in from outside but was told that wasn't possible. So I said well that means it must be someone at esnips doing it. BUT that was rejected too. Being a simple man I was confused because, if it wasn't being done from OUT-side and if it wasn't being done from IN-side .... I had run out of possible "sides" . :lol:

In the past I have taken some of these "happenings" personally but after reading what Dale wrote in another thread and all the problems Dizzy has had recently I have to say I think it's the esnips software or that "Audio Tragic" AGAIN that is causing all those problems. When I encounter problems I try and stay cool and find ways round the problems but there are so many different types of problems now. I remain logical and logic tells me that it's not personal when someone as popular as Dizzy is affected too. For months now we have had to upload to private folders and then switch to get round the "copyright" problem and we have learnt to move our files when we get the "file no longer avaliable" error message appears and for months now the "auto play" function has been disabled in the mp3 player widgets. That was supposed to be a temporary measure until the abuse of esnips by other websites was taken care of. I assume that problem has been adressed by now. I know the Mods report all these faults. BUT they are here in the forum for the esnips guys ro read if they want to. They don't actually need to have the problems spoon fed to them. I just wish that occasionally we heard from esnips themselves in these forums. I know that staff levels were reduced but peeing off some of the most popular singers here is not a good thing in my opinion. What good would a karaoke section be if everybody got peed off and left taking all their songs with them. :lol: Cheers Roy

Actually... I've gone through my folders and found a couple of my songs totally vanished as well... Hmmmmmmmmm... I can't find'em anywhere... I don't even get the dreaded "File No Longer Available"... They're just GONE !! Maybe I deleted them after one of my happy... post Martini or post Margarita binges... hehe Oh Well... That's what I mean What I would like to know is IS esnips aware of this problem and what is THEIR explanation for it ? AND what are they doing about it ? Whenever I have asked questions in the past and made suggestion of the possible causes I have always had my theories rejected BUT I have NEVER yet found out what happened to my damaged or removed files. To me that suggests that 1. esnips doesn't have a clue either OR 2. They DO know but won't tell me. Logic suggests that it HAS to be one of those 2 options I always feel that posing a question in the forum is like watching a coffin disappearing through the curtains at a crematorium. Cheers Roy

I just noticed your topic, and I understand you are also very :twisted: about whats happening, without having a say in it, on esnips. I too have noticed that certain files are removed, and a message "file no longer available" appears instead. If Esnips had just started this karaoke-site, I would understand, because at first there can be problems expected, which are to be solved eventually. But it seems like the longer Esnips exists, the more problems arise. When I first joined Esnips, everything went without ANY problems...and everything worked as it should. I don't know who is responsible for Esnips, technically....but, unless "someone" is deliberately bringing problems, I believe that the technical support should be able to solve this....or find out what the cause can be. If everything worked fine from the beginning of Esnips up until a few months ago...........why couldn't it remain that way? I have my own thoughts and opinion....and in the meantime I , and hopefull many others, will hold on...... Have a nice weekend Roy :-)

"file no longer available" is a notice related to audible magic and copyright infringement if you get this notice post a link and I will check-it out and notify admin and also you can return the file to private at any time no file is ever removed just suspended .

I have noted that many files that come up as copyright infringement, can be found elsewhere on esnips by other singers how come ? Does audible magic only work for some people, :?: and not others ?

Well esnips erns a lot of money by us, so the least they can do is getting it work on a good way. When I come here in may 2007 there were no problems at all. Its if how faster the income is growing the less responsible they get to us the money bringers. well maybe it is time to get a share of it, and we can make it work by that earned money. :shock: R.S.

Hello All, Normally if I point out things that are going wrong they are normally denied BUT then, if lots of people confirm what was supposed to be just my computers fault is happening to them too, desperate times call for desperate measures and I am accused of being negative and told that all I do is complain. That might satisfy someone with an IQ in single figures but the brighter amongst us realise that it's meant to distract from the problem being discussed in a serious way. There are so many different problems happening now and we have been victims of "divide and rule" I have had problems that were "being looked into" that months later were not resolved and I don't expect that to mean anything anymore. I just look for ways to work round each new problem as it occurs but when all trace of a file is removed then you cant move it anywhere to try and save it I sometimes wonder if this ship has a crew anymore or are we all simply passengers adrift in the ocean .... bumping into icebergs. :lol: Cheers Roy

Well maybe a little strange that I am still around. But in a way my internet connection if for free so also my telephone. I can't pay it but it stills remains. So I looked some closer to the problem we have with new files, who doesn't play. It is almost looks if the famous ones :wink: on esnips are blocked in a strange way. I tried to load up only a text and I got the message copyright bla bla. I did this 4 times same message ocure. Then I tried a music file with the title which belongs to the song. It upload but didn't play. Hello Robert, Thankyou for that. It's an interesting theory and you might be right, although Audible Magic [ or whatever the thing calls itself ] is supposed to compare sound bytes NOT song titles. If it rejected or deleted based on song titles there would be nothing left in the karaoke section. lol I know that while I was asleep in my bed last night all trace of my version of "Love Me Tender" was removed from my Elvis folder. Others have gone too but I have a busy day ahead of me amd won't have time to find out what else has been removed until tomorrow now. There is nothing left of the song to transfer to a private folder so there is nothing I can do. SO FAR I HAVEN'T READ ANY EXPLANATIONS FROM ESNIPS ABOUT ANY OF THE RECENT PROBLEMS THAT ARE TAKING THE FUN OUT OF THIS PLACE Lately none of the problems have been solved but ordinary members like you and I can compare notes and try and find ways to work round them. Of course there is no "work round" for someone deleting your file completely Cheers Roy

Hello Dizzy, Well done mate. I just hope you get to hold on to your songs once you have posted them. I am having files stolen on a daily basis. I checked Roberts theory by checking other peoples versions of "Love Me Tender" and all the other versions are still avaliable. It seems that only mine was removed. STILL NO SENSIBLE ANSWER AS TO WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING AND WHAT IS BEING DONE TO STOP IT HAPPENING AGAIN. No fair minded person could disagree with your sentiments my friend. I think most people feel agrieved at the lack of information that causes all the doubt and mistrust. I cant help thinking that there is more to all this than meets the eye, if I am wrong for thinking it, then blame it on lack of communication. Who can blame a person for coming to the wrong conclusions when we dont know the facts to make allowances for. I hate moaning, its not my thing, but all this is very trying. Dizzy :-)

Hello Dizzy, If you tell the truth about the things that are going wrong you are labelled negative but that's just a smokescreen . People like you and I are positive because we are trying to get something done about it. I do not accept that it's ok for something or someone to steal my files The policy seems to be to not do anything about things and hope that the people complaining just lose interest. It's a simple policy but quite effective because if we continue to complain eventually our fellow esnippers [ who may not be affected themselves ] will lose interest in us too and start to believe the nonsense about us being negative or troublemakers. A few people have had the same problem throughout history :-) The truth will always be the truth no matter what people say and do. Beat us, humiliate us, but the truth still remains. :-) Let's just see what happens though, because we could be jumping to conclusions because of lack of information. Nothing is happening fast so it looks like we will just have to sit it out, if we can :D Dizzy :-)

Its hard not to think all sorts of things when all this is going on. The more I hear, the more suspicious I get. Stories like Ed's are getting to be more common place, why is it happening to some people, and not others ? These are some of the questions that we would like answered, but that cloak of anonimity just compounds our grievances.

Hello Dizzy You are right. If we are wrong to have suspicions then tell us the truth. There can only be 2 possible options. 1. Esnips knows that this is all about and aren't telling us. OR 2. I know who the mods are but I am not blaming them. Apart from recommending who gets favored I don't think they have many real powers at all. I am waiting for someone from esnips to answer our questions. The mods just offer to pass on our concerns then report back that "esnips are looking into it " but there is nothing to stop esnips themselves glancing at the pages of the forum occasionally. I just don't believe that esnips are totally unaware of what is going on in their own computers.

Hey Dizzy, I am sorry if I worded that badly. I didn't mean to imply that you were blaming the mods. You know Ruben and Dale very well and they are both mods but I can't see how asking them to tell esnips about these problems will help, to be honest. The mods already know about it and may well have already tried to get esnips to actually do something about it. They probably get as frustrated as we do. Cheers Roy

All of us are wondering what's up. Karen and I have posted into the mods forum, enlightening staff of what's up here in the forum and all over esnips. On the photography pages, most of the pages are empty. Nothing is showing up for new photos and other sections. Here's Karen's post: I think you should read what eSnippers are saying and their concerns. Files are mysteriously disappearing from people's folders and not just in the music communities either. Lots of members are having trouble even uploading their files to folders. I just recieved a comment in my profile from a member who is concerned about the disappearance of his files. I've left a message asking him not to panic and that Admin are aware and are looking into it. I think it should be a matter of urgency that the tech guys get this sorted. It's very disheartening fro people to put a lot of hard work into their creations and find them disappear like this..The members are getting very restless now. ....................................................................................................... And here's my post to staff: I agree. Esnips needs to respond in the forum as to what's being done to follow up on this. Either Liat or Tomer. The age old thing of us mods being a go-between, isn't working very well and some of us are tending to feel kind of helpless when responding to complaints of "glitches". No offense intended to anyone at esnips, but man... you guys gotta get this situation stabilized and try to keep it that way. Ya ever think of getting rid of Audible Magic??? It's caused one glitch after another and is making esnips look like they don't give a damn. ........................................................................................................ People, All I can honestly say is that nobody at esnips, mods or staff, is "picking on" anyone. We don't do that. We are people who post our stuff too and are having similar issues. Hello Dale, I DO believe you. I realised that it wasn't a case of anyone in particular being picked on when Dizzy started having troubles, because he is the person least likely to get picked on by the mods.. ME I can understand. :lol: In the past when Audible Magic has struck you got the "This file is not avaliable any more" message . That is something I saw only this morning but this worrying new development of all traces of the file being removed can only be replicated by us by deleting a file and I am convinced that is what is happening. I am used to having files disabled [ so that they will never play again ] but who on Earth has access to our folders apart from ourselves and the esnips staff ? In other words WHO OR WHAT IS DELETING OUR FILES ? Can you ask esnips this for me please [ below ] ? IS AUDIBLE MAGIC ABLE TO COMPLETELY DELETE FILES NOW ... AND ... IF SO, WHY DOES IT DELETE SOME COMPLETELY [ REMOVING ALL TRACES OF THE FILE'S EXISTENCE ] YET ON OTHER FILES JUST LEAVE A MESSAGE SAYING THAT THE FILE IS NO LONGER AVALIABLE ? I explained the situation and asked him to come and personally answer, if he'd be so kind. Roy... as for you being picked on.. let me say this. I know that you and others don't care much for me, because of my rocky start here. But let me tell you something. Whether I like someone or not, I WILL NOT go out of my way to pick on you or anyone else. I'm not really an evil person and I think that deep down you really know that. I do understand yours and everyone elses frustrations with esnips. Just because we are moderators, doesn't make us immune from the danged machine! It would behoove all of us to forget the past and get on with our lives. I see no future in arguing or fighting with anyone. I've learned a hard lesson from my beginning days of moderating here. Jamlover has been offline for a while now and comes in on occasion. I seriously doubt that he would go around picking on anyone, etc, either. Oh... Tomer did respond to the mods today and asked some questions. But with a day gap between him and I working, it takes a day to get a reply. To the best of my knowlege, staff has been very busy. Doing what, I didn't ask. One day at a time. We'll get it all figured out....if it hasn't been done already. He may have passed our message on to the programmers. Egad, but I hate glitches. And double egad, but I hate continuous glitches... as much as anyone.

As I said Dale, I never suspected you of being involved in this. I was just explaining why I knew that the current problems had nothing to do with favoritism or the reverse. I am like you I do not want to pursue our differences. It would be counter productive to me anyway because I have no power at esnips ... only the power of free speech when unfortunate accidents happen to my songs. That sort of thing has been part of my experience since I started taking an active interest in the karaoke section of esnips, as against just using it as a very generous and handy storage facility which I did previously. It's a shame because this place has so much potential and the goodwill from it's members would be boundless if only esnips communicated with it's clients. I won't say customers because we don't pay . You and I have totally opposite ways of seeing the world and moderating but that does not mean we have to clash. I don't actually want too much more from esnips than they are already giving me and the suggestions I make [ to no avail ] are 1: That our files are kept safe and undamaged and 2: That all elements of favoriting are removed [ like other less generous websites where everyone is treated equally ]. I will always defend myself when my files are attacked and I will defend my friends when they are abused. BUT [ although this may seem unlikely ] given a choice, I would like to just sing my songs and send them in the hope that people enjoy them and fly under the radar, never appearing in the forum .. except to have some fun.
